Cleaner – Groenkloof National Park (Head Office)

Location: Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria
Job Grade: Paterson A1
Reports To: Officer: Facilities
We are currently recruiting a Cleaner to join our team at the SANParks Head Office. This role is vital in ensuring our workspaces remain clean, organized, and welcoming to both staff and visitors.

Key Duties:
• Clean offices, bathrooms, passages, and general open areas daily

• Set up refreshments and prepare meeting rooms

• Handle cleaning materials responsibly and keep areas hygienic

• Manage consumables (toilet paper, soap, etc.) and perform stocktaking

• Report and assist in resolving facility-related issues

• Follow emergency protocols and provide support in ad-hoc tasks when needed

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 (Matric)

• 1–2 years’ experience in a cleaning role

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and basic First Aid

• Stock handling experience is a plus

• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work under pressure

General Worker x3 – Agulhas National Park (3-Year Contract)

Location: Agulhas National Park
Contract Duration: Until March 2028
Salary Range: R136,583.09 – R182,758.24
Reports To: Duty Manager
We’re hiring three motivated and hands-on General Workers to support operations at Agulhas National Park. These fixed-term positions are ideal for individuals looking for long-term employment in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
Important Note: Candidates must arrange their own accommodation, as housing is not provided by the park.

Main Responsibilities:
• Keep public areas clean, including braais, ablutions, office spaces, and park accommodations

• Support minor building and infrastructure maintenance

• Maintain garden and park terrain through mowing, trimming, and landscaping

• Perform vehicle and tool maintenance

• Log and report any facility issues

• Comply with all safety regulations (OHS Act)

• Work weekends and public holidays when required

What You’ll Need:
• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) or NCV Level 4

• Previous experience in maintenance, housekeeping, or similar roles preferred

• Physically capable of manual labor, including lifting and standing for long periods

• A valid driver’s license is advantageous

• Understanding of OHS and basic First Aid is an asset

• Time management and self-discipline are critical for success in this role
