Programme Overview:
The Truworths Learnership Programme is designed to equip young South Africans with practical, hands-on experience in the retail sector. Participants will be trained to perform effectively both on the sales floor and at the service desk. Through this cross-training approach, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of store operations and customer engagement.
As a learner, you’ll work directly with customers, assist with stock control, and develop essential retail skills that will boost your employability. You’ll also have the chance to build lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues, setting a strong foundation for a future career in retail.
What You Will Learn:
• Building and maintaining excellent customer service skills
• Gaining in-depth knowledge of store products and promotions
• Assisting with merchandising to create an appealing shopping environment
• Managing stock levels and preventing losses
• Processing sales and payments through the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Opening customer accounts and supporting account management
• Preparing for assessments and completing learning logbooks
• Ensuring customer safety and maintaining store security
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 10 or Grade 12 school qualification
• A genuine passion for fashion and the retail industry
• Strong willingness to learn and grow
• Commitment to completing the learnership successfully
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete at least 120 practical hours in the store
• Participate actively in training sessions and assessments
• Deliver excellent service to every customer
• Help create a safe, welcoming shopping environment
• Support stockroom and sales floor operations
