In this key role, you’ll manage daily financial activities such as bank statement processing, direct deposit allocations, general ledger management, and reconciliation tasks. Your work will directly support the transparency and efficiency of our public financial operations.

What You’ll Need

Admin Officer


To be successful in this role, you should have:
• A Diploma in Finance or a related qualification (minimum NQF Level 5)

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a financial, administrative, or accounting environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Admin Officer


Your day-to-day work will include:
• Daily Bank Statement Handling: Download and upload statements into the Solar financial system to ensure accurate financial data is available for processing.

• Payment Allocation: Assign incoming payments from government departments to their correct utility accounts (e.g., water and electricity).

• Deposit Management: Process and allocate direct deposits from various standalone bank accounts.

• Ledger and Vote Reconciliation: Balance suspense accounts and banking cost votes within the general ledger.

• Journal Entry Processing: Capture and submit journal entries, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

• Bank Reconciliation: Compile and prepare bank reconciliation reports for managerial review and approval.

• Stock Control of Financial Tools: Oversee the use and distribution of deposit books, debit and credit card rolls.

• Office Supply Management: Handle in-house stock control of stationery, consumables, and basic equipment for the department.
