Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented remote Reconciliation Specialist to assist with reconciling financial statements and analysing electricity and water usage for a private client. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, capable of creating advanced formulas and graphs and skilled in auditing utility usage against billed amounts. This is a work from home, once-off independent contract (max 10 hours).

Responsibilities:

  • Statement Reconciliation: Review and reconcile statements to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Utility Usage Analysis: Analyse electricity and water usage data to identify discrepancies between actual usage and billed amounts.
  • Excel Proficiency: Create and manage complex Excel spreadsheets, including the use of advanced formulas and functions to automate calculations.
  • Data Visualisation: Develop and maintain graphs and charts to represent usage patterns visually, discrepancies and trends.
  • Audit and Reporting: Conduct thorough audits of utility usage and billing, prepare detailed reports summarising findings and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the client to gather necessary information, explain findings and provide actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Reliable internet connection and access to necessary software tools.
  • Availability for 5-10 hours per project, with flexibility to accommodate the clientโ€™s schedule.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data security.
  • Proficiency in Excel: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formula creation, pivot tables, and data visualisation.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret data and identify inconsistencies.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reconciliation and analysis.
  • Experience: Prior experience in financial statement reconciliation, utility billing analysis, or a related field.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly present findings and recommendations.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
