Your Role: What You’ll Be Doing
General Worker
As a Production Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day assembly and production operations within our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Hands-on Assembly: Execute essential fitting, installation, and adjustment tasks with precision and care to uphold BMW’s global standards.
• Quality Control: Proactively monitor and initiate actions to ensure product quality at every step of the production process.
• 5S Compliance: Follow and promote the 5S system (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Strictly adhere to operational instructions, ensuring consistency and safety in all activities.
• Safety and Environmental Awareness: Identify and report any health, safety, or environmental hazards in your area. Maintain a clean, safe, and pollution-free working environment.
• PPE Usage: Always wear and maintain proper Personal Protective Equipment as mandated.
• Incident Reporting: Promptly report any accidents or safety incidents to emergency services (X3003) or your Process Leader.
• Legal and Compliance Standards: Follow all South African occupational safety and environmental laws, and respect internal company policies.
• Chemical Handling: Handle and use industrial chemicals safely, complying with BMW’s CHI (Chemical Handling Instructions).
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate machinery and tools necessary for your role.
• Waste Management: Practice responsible disposal and separation of waste materials to support BMW’s sustainability mission.
What You Bring to the Team
General Worker
We’re looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, dependable, and driven by a commitment to excellence. You’ll need:
• Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science, or an N3 qualification with equivalent subjects.
• Advantageous: An N4 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering will be beneficial.
• Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Communication Skills: Ability to understand instructions and convey information clearly within a team environment.
• Analytical Thinking: Basic analytical skills to help spot issues and contribute to problem-solving.
