What Is a Data Capturer?
A Data Capturer is someone who helps clinics keep accurate records of patient visits, treatments, and test results. You’ll work directly with healthcare teams to take the information from paper files and enter it into computer systems. This helps doctors and nurses track patient progress, plan treatments, and report to the government.
It’s an important job—because when patient information is correct and up to date, lives can be saved.
What You’ll Do Each Day For Data Capturer Job Opportunity
As a Data Capturer at Right to Care, your daily tasks will include:
• Entering patient information from paper forms into clinic computer systems like TIER.Net and QODE
• Making sure the data is correct, complete, and entered on time
• Checking for any mistakes and correcting them
• Preparing reports on the data you’ve captured
• Working closely with nurses, doctors, and other health workers to make sure everyone has the information they need
• Keeping all patient information private and confidential
• Following clinic rules and Department of Health guidelines
• Helping improve health services by supporting accurate data collection
Who We’re Looking For in Data Capturer Job Opportunity
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and wants to help improve healthcare in their community.
Here’s what you’ll need to apply:
Minimum Qualifications
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• A certificate in computer literacy (including MS Excel) or relevant hands-on experience
• Good communication skills in English
• At least 1 year of experience doing data capturing work
• Understanding of HIV and TB is a big plus
Work Experience Requirements
• Experience with TIER.Net and QODE (these are systems used by clinics to manage HIV/TB patients)
• Experience working with the APACE programme (if you’ve worked in public health, you may already know this)
• Knowledge of how data capturing works within Thabo Mofutsanyana District clinics
• Familiarity with local Department of Health rules and processes
• You must be a resident of Thabo Mofutsanyana or nearby areas
