O.R. Tambo District Municipality, located in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, is seeking qualified individuals to fill four (4) permanent firefighter positions. This opportunity is ideal for dedicated professionals passionate about fire safety and emergency response services.
Position Details:
• Job Title: Firefighter (X4)
• Employment Type: Permanent
• Task Grade: 06 (Pending Job Evaluation outcomes)
• Salary Range: R186,622.46 – R242,249.45 per annum
• Work Location: Mthatha, Eastern Cape
• Reporting To: Senior Firefighter
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
• Educational Background: Grade 11
• Certifications: Firefighter Certificate 1, First Aid Level 1
• License Requirements: Code C1 Driver’s License with a valid PrDP
• Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field
Key Responsibilities:
• Responding to fire emergencies and carrying out firefighting duties
• Participating in fire prevention initiatives and preparedness exercises
• Operating and maintaining firefighting equipment as per safety guidelines
• Ensuring effective financial and asset management practices
• Handling administrative tasks and compiling reports related to firefighting activities
• Engaging with stakeholders regarding fire safety and emergency protocols
