About the Role: Data Capturer (Government Health Sector)


As a Data Capturer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely recording of clinical and operational data using various government health information systems. This includes compiling monthly and quarterly reports, supporting health managers with data verification, and ensuring compliance with national health reporting protocols.

Minimum Requirements


To qualify for these government data entry jobs, applicants must meet the following baseline requirements:
• Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 or 5

• Computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and typing skills

Recommendations (Advantageous but Not Required):
• Unendorsed Code B driver’s license (Code 08)

• Experience with Tier.Net, Web DHIS, or similar healthcare data systems

Core Duties and Key Responsibilities


Your main duties will involve:
Data Capturing & Entry
• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical documents for electronic data capture

• Accurately enter data into relevant software systems, databases, and spreadsheets

• Import, export, and manage data between various systems

• Enter data for routine health indicators, including Antenatal HIV surveys, DHIS reports, and Tier.Net inputs

Reporting and Analysis
• Compile monthly and quarterly reports for internal and district-level review

• Identify and correct data inconsistencies and anomalies

• Verify data integrity by cross-checking records with previous submissions

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of submissions on WebDHIS and other platforms

Technical Support and Stakeholder Communication
• Provide technical data entry support to internal departments (non-IT support)

• Liaise with department heads and clinics to ensure timely data collection

• Attend data meetings and contribute feedback to institutional planning

• Guide stakeholders on data submission formats and protocols

Data Security and Storage
• Perform backups to protect data from loss

• Maintain digital and physical document security in line with policy

• Sort, file, and store records in designated locations

• Ensure adherence to data integrity, compliance, and confidentiality standards
