The Northern Cape Department of Health is inviting dynamic, motivated, and committed individuals to apply for six available positions as Administrative Clerk X6 (Communications). This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a passion for public service, effective communication, and administrative efficiency. These positions are critical in supporting communication efforts across our provincial health districts and facilities. You will be part of a team working to strengthen community outreach, ensure effective internal communication, and support the strategic goals of the Department.

Each post is linked to a different district or health facility, offering candidates the opportunity to apply in a location that suits them best:
• Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital (Kimberley)

• Frances Baard District

• John Taolo Gaetsewe District

• Pixley Ka Seme District

• Namakwa District

• Provincial Office – Office of the HOD

Minimum Requirements:


• A Senior Certificate/Matric qualification

• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in communications, media, or public relations

• Strong administrative and clerical skills

• Basic knowledge of digital platforms and social media

• Good verbal and written communication abilities

• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

Key Responsibilities Include:


As an Administrative Clerk in Communications, your work will focus on providing essential support to the communications function and general administrative duties. This includes:
• Assisting with media monitoring across various channels, including newspapers, radio, and social media

• Drafting content for internal and external communication, such as press releases, social media posts, radio scripts, and newsletters

• Designing basic visual content, like infographics, for public health campaigns aligned with the Department’s health calendar

• Supporting the implementation of the District Communication Plan and engaging with local communities on relevant health matters

• Organizing and maintaining records, capturing data, and managing routine correspondence

• Collaborating with stakeholders at different levels, including government departments, community leaders, and the media

• Coordinating meetings, compiling reports, and participating in outreach programs
