Your Role in Our Mission

In this position, you’ll support and maintain the ICT infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, assist with critical projects, and provide outstanding service to end-users. Whether working onsite or remotely, your expertise will keep systems functional and secure for our staff and stakeholders.
1. Delivering Exceptional Customer Service
• Serve as a responsive, reliable point of contact for ICT-related support requests.
• Provide in-person and remote support with professionalism and a service-first attitude.
• Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) and internal support policies.
• Guide users in navigating application features and tools efficiently.
2. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
• Resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure issues with practical, lasting solutions.
• Ensure consistent and effective problem resolution aligned with best practices.
• Support the installation and configuration of devices and ICT equipment.
• Travel to various SANBS regions when required for onsite issue resolution or project support.
3. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Support
• Assist in executing business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
• Participate in regular data backup processes and system checks.
• Support the Network Engineer and Analyst with testing and readiness exercises.
4. Contributing to Key ICT Projects
• Take part in SANBS technology initiatives and projects.
• Meet assigned project timelines and communicate progress with clarity.
• Follow SANBS project methodologies and contribute to successful project delivery.
5. Enhancing and Optimizing Infrastructure
• Offer insight and alternatives for IT infrastructure procurement.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing and adhering to ICT policies.
• Recommend best-fit solutions that align with SANBS operational needs.
6. Managing Network Access and Security
• Maintain user accounts on Active Directory based on new user requests and staff exits.
• Monitor access rights and ensure appropriate usage of network resources.
• Support policy enforcement around access control and network security.
7. Providing Technical and Network Support
• Deliver first-level support for network connectivity and server issues.
• Address WAN-related concerns, including patching and tracing network points.
• Ensure all users have secure, reliable access to the systems they need.
What You’ll Need to Succeed

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• At least two certifications from:
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Network+
• MCSE / MCSA / MCP
• Or an IT-related diploma or degree
Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year in an ICT support role (e.g., Support Technician, Junior Network Engineer)
• Familiarity with Active Directory and system administration
• Exposure to hardware and software troubleshooting
Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license (regional travel may be required)
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
• Attention to detail, ethical conduct, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
