About the Role: Data Capturer (2 Positions Available)


As a Data Capturer, you will be an essential member of the Support Division, ensuring that critical information is accurately entered, stored, and retrieved as needed. This is not just another clerical job—it’s a vital position that supports the larger mission of HWSETA in its commitment to promoting skills development in the health and welfare sectors.


Your primary responsibility will be to manage data for the Skills Development Provider (SDP) division, which will constitute 80% of your duties. The remaining 20% will involve supporting other units within the organization. In this role, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness are non-negotiable. You will need to perform daily data input tasks, maintain digital and physical filing systems, and retrieve important records to support strategic and operational initiatives.


This role is perfect for someone already experienced in data entry jobs and looking to transition into a well-structured public sector entity with excellent working conditions and room for career development.


Key Responsibilities


• Capture a wide range of data related to educational providers, learner registrations, and compliance documentation

• Maintain both digital and paper-based filing systems with up-to-date, organized, and retrievable information

• Retrieve records upon request with speed and accuracy

• Collaborate with different departments to ensure complete and high-quality data submission

• Validate data for completeness and consistency

• Support auditing processes by providing data evidence and documentation

• Ensure confidentiality and data security in line with organizational and legal standards

• Deliver results while managing routine daily tasks and responding to urgent data requests

Minimum Educational Requirements


• Matric / Grade 12 is required

• A Post-Matric Certificate or any tertiary education in administration or data management will be an added advantage

Work Experience and Skills


To be considered for this data entry job, candidates must have:
• At least 3 years of proven experience in data capturing, record keeping, and retrieval tasks

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously

• A calm demeanor under pressure and the ability to meet tight deadlines

• High levels of integrity and a commitment to confidentiality
