Sun International is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Receptionist to join our world-class hospitality team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in ensuring every guest enjoys a smooth, memorable, and personalized experience from arrival to departure. Your Key Responsibilities

Receptionist

Prepare a Welcoming Front Desk
• Ensure the reception area is spotless, organized, and welcoming.

• Report and follow up on any technical issues or maintenance problems that affect guest experience.

• Keep information racks and brochure stands updated and fully stocked.

• Review daily arrivals, VIP guest lists, and special requests to personalize service delivery.

• Assist with the preparation and delivery of special amenities for VIP guests.

• Stay informed about all hotel facilities, events, and promotions to assist guests knowledgeably.

Deliver Outstanding Reception Services
• Greet every guest warmly with a genuine smile and courteous attitude.

• Manage the full check-in and check-out process, including issuing room keys, handling billing, and processing payments efficiently.

• Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and messages with professionalism and warmth.

• Offer personalized recommendations and assist guests with reservations for local attractions, dining, and entertainment.

• Proactively upsell hotel services, room upgrades, and special packages to enhance guest experiences.

• Build rapport with guests by anticipating their needs and delivering tailored solutions.

• Maintain accurate records of bookings, transactions, and correspondence for accountability and seamless operations.

• Handle reservation inquiries across all platforms—phone, online, and walk-ins—ensuring timely and efficient service.

• Report any maintenance, housekeeping, or operational concerns promptly to the relevant teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

• Manage a personal cash float and perform end-of-shift cash-ups with accuracy and integrity.

• Maintain a professional presence at the front desk throughout your shift.

Engage and Delight Every Guest
• Provide every guest with a warm welcome, a friendly goodbye, and a consistent, respectful experience throughout their stay.

• Actively listen to guests to understand their needs and preferences, adapting services accordingly.

• Share information about hotel amenities, special promotions, and events to maximize guest enjoyment.

• Resolve guest concerns quickly, courteously, and effectively, escalating issues when necessary to maintain service excellence.

What We’re Looking For

Receptionist

Education:
• Matric/Grade 12 qualification is required.

Experience:
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service role, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.

Skills and Attributes:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural flair for customer engagement.

• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

• Must be comfortable working on a shift schedule that supports operational needs, including weekends and holidays.

• Physically fit and able to be on your feet for extended periods.

• Knowledge of an additional language relevant to our guest demographic is a plus.

• Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to excellence.
