Position Overview: Content Writer & Translator (Setswana)

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team of educators and content creators to develop Setswana-language resources for teachers in South Africa. As part of our remote team, you will collaborate with fellow writers and editors to produce high-quality educational materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate educational resources into Setswana to enhance learning across different subjects.
• Provide and incorporate editorial feedback to maintain top-tier content quality.
• Apply linguistic expertise to ensure accurate and culturally relevant translations.
• Work closely with the team to brainstorm and develop new resource ideas.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and eager to contribute their Setswana language skills to help educators and students succeed. Since this is a remote position, flexible working hours are available, but daytime availability is expected for training, meetings, and team collaboration, especially during the onboarding period.

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in Setswana, translation, or a related field.
• Experience in translation or teaching, with strong references.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Proficiency in both English and Setswana (reading, writing, and comprehension).
• Comfortable using IT tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
• A strong commitment to professional growth and development.

What You’ll Learn:

• How to use project management tools and Twinkl’s in-house systems.

Requirements:

• A stable internet connection (minimum speed: 6mbps download, 1mbps upload).
• Personal IT equipment for remote work.

• The South African production team.
• Your designated Line Manager.
• A team of teachers who create, edit, and refine content.
• Designers and illustrators who bring Twinkl’s resources to life.
