Call Centre Agent


We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our dynamic team as a Call Centre Agent at Absa. In this role, you will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, assisting customers, merchants, and branches with their inquiries, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional service and meeting business objectives through effective communication and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities


1. Customer Support & Service Delivery
โ€ข Handle incoming and outgoing calls professionally and efficiently.
โ€ข Assist cardholders, merchants, and branch staff by providing accurate and timely information.
โ€ข Address customer queries, concerns, and complaints while ensuring a positive resolution.
โ€ข Maintain a high level of availability to meet customer needs and enhance service quality.
โ€ข Work towards achieving and exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain operational excellence.


2. Customer Experience & Satisfaction
โ€ข Provide outstanding service to customers by demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism.
โ€ข Actively listen to customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
โ€ข Ensure all interactions result in a high level of customer satisfaction.
โ€ข Identify customer pain points and escalate complex issues when necessary.


3. Compliance & Risk Management
โ€ข Adhere to all internal policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
โ€ข Maintain data confidentiality and follow compliance protocols when handling customer information.
โ€ข Ensure all transactions and interactions meet quality assurance and compliance standards.
โ€ข Identify potential risks and report any irregularities to the appropriate department.


4. Operational Efficiency & Performance Goals
โ€ข Meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets, including call handling times and customer satisfaction scores.
โ€ข Stay up to date with company products, policies, and services to provide accurate information.
โ€ข Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
โ€ข Use problem-solving skills to resolve customer issues effectively and efficiently.


Qualifications & Skills Required


โ€ข Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
โ€ข Customer-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence.
โ€ข High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
โ€ข Ability to work well within a team and independently.
โ€ข Experience in a call centre or customer service role is an advantage but not mandatory.
