We are looking for a Junior Bank Teller to efficiently handle customer transactions while providing exceptional service. Your role will involve processing cash and other financial transactions accurately and ensuring compliance with banking policies.

Key Responsibilities
Cash & Transaction Processing:

• Handle cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cheques, and financial instruments.
• Maintain and balance your cash float throughout the day, ensuring accuracy and control.
• Process transactions within defined limits and escalate those exceeding authority levels.
• Detect and report fraudulent or suspicious activities before processing transactions.
• Capture all financial transactions on the bank system, ensuring proper authorization.
• Conduct daily reconciliations of cash and prepare reports for audit purposes.

Customer Service & Support:

• Assist customers with banking transactions and provide accurate information.
• Address customer inquiries and escalate unresolved issues to the branch manager.
• Educate customers on Absa’s banking procedures, digital services, and transaction guidelines.
• Maintain professionalism, adhere to corporate dress standards, and ensure a tidy workspace.
• Assist customers in migrating to digital banking channels for more efficient transactions.
• Provide marketing materials and guidance on banking products and services.

Sales & Business Growth:

• Identify and act on sales opportunities, cross-selling relevant banking products.
• Promote banking campaigns and direct customers to Sales Consultants for further details.
• Capture and follow up on sales leads to contribute to the branch’s growth targets.

Risk & Compliance Management:

• Adhere to security protocols, including safe handling procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate transaction records for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Follow fraud prevention measures and report any suspicious activities.
• Comply with money laundering control frameworks and all relevant banking policies.
• Secure cash, teller stamps, keys, and security items according to bank procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with banking policies, fraud prevention measures, and operational procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to handle cash transactions with high accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of banking operations and financial transactions.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
